Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about reservations, GreenLit gatherings, cancellations, waitlists, and notifications.

What is GreenLight Gatherings?

GreenLight Gatherings connects people through small, curated dining experiences at local restaurants. Guest interest helps shape future gatherings, and once enough paid participants join an event, it becomes GreenLit and takes place.

What does GreenLit mean?

GreenLit means the gathering has reached the required number of paid participants and is officially moving forward.

When is my reservation final?

Your reservation becomes final once the gathering reaches the required number of paid participants and becomes GreenLit.

Can I cancel my reservation?

You can cancel before the gathering becomes GreenLit. Once the gathering is GreenLit, reservations are final because the restaurant begins preparing and reserving seating for the group.

What happens if a gathering does not get enough people?

If a gathering does not reach the required number of participants, it may be canceled. Guests will be notified and refunds issued.

What is included in the price?

The listed price includes the planned meal, tax, and tip unless the gathering page says otherwise.

Can I make substitutions?

Usually no. The menu is planned in advance with the restaurant, so substitutions may not be available.

Can I join the waitlist if an event is full?

Yes. If a gathering is full, you can join the event waitlist. If an opening becomes available, GreenLight Gatherings may contact people on the waitlist.

How do private gatherings work?

Private gatherings are shared by direct link and do not appear on the public events page.

Will I get notified about future gatherings?

Yes, if you join the notification list or choose the notification option when reserving.

Why do you ask for gathering preferences?

Preferences help us understand what people may actually want to attend, including cuisines, dining styles, locations, times, social settings, and gathering ideas.

How do you decide who hears about a gathering first?

We may notify people first based on preferences such as location, cuisine interests, dining experience, preferred times, and other relevant signals. If seats are still available, broader notifications may follow.

Do my preferences limit which gatherings I can join?

No. Preferences help us send more relevant invitations, but they are not a hard limit. If a gathering is available and has open seats, you can still reserve a spot.
